John C. Brewer
John C. Brewer, 79, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at his home on Linwood Drive.
A retired mail carrier, he was a native of Greene County and for many years operated a grocery with his father, the late Bill Brewer.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; one son, Dr. William M. Brewer, Hays, Kansas; and three grandchildren.
Mitchell Funeral Home will announce service arrangements.

John Brewer services at 2:30 today
Funeral services for John C. Brewer were scheduled at 2:30 p.m. today at the First Methodist Church.  Rev. Gaither McKelvey, Harrisburg, a nephew of Mrs. Brewer, is officiating minister, and burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Mr. Brewer, 79, died suddenly of a heart failure Thursday night at his home on Linwood Drive.  he had been in ill health for several months.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; one son, Dr. William M. Brewer, Hays, Kansas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brewer was a member of the First Methodist Church and a retired mail carrier, having 28 years' service in Paragould.  He also formerly operated a grocery store with his father, the late Bill Brewer.
Visitors and shut-ins will remember him as an avid flower gardener whose joy was in sharing bouquets and plants with others.
Active pallbearers McKelvey, Ancil Rowe [sic], Woodrow McCullar, Jesse Walden, Luster Pratt, and W.D. Collins.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the First Methodist Men's Bible Class and retired postal employees.
Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
