Mrs. Clara McKelvey Brewer
Mrs. Clara McKelvey Brewer, 77 Linwood Drive, died at 4:58 a.m. Sunday at Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for the last three weeks.
A native of Greene County, she was the wife of the late John C. Brewer, who died July 21, 1960.
Mrs. Brewer was a daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. James K.P. McKelvey, and the mother of the late Dr. Earl Brewer.  She was born and raised in Camp Ground Community.
A member of the First Methodist Church, she took an active part in the W.S.C.S. when she was able, and had been an active member of the Paragould Garden Club.
She and her late husband were well known for their flowers and vegetable garden, which they enjoyed sharing with their many friends.
She leaves a son, Dr. William M. Brewer, hays, KS; a brother, Ray McKelvey, RFD 6; a sister, Mrs. Jessie D. Roe, Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Church, Rev. Gaither McKelvey and Rev. T.T. McNeil officiating.  Burial under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home will be in Linwood Cemetery.
The Rev. McKelvey, pastor of the First Method Church, Harrisburg, is a nephew of Mrs. Brewer.
Pallbearers:  Leonard McKelvey, Harvey Taylor, Paul McKelvey, Lester [sic] Pratt, William G. McKelvey, Jess Walden, Richard McKelvey and Tom Roe.
Friends may call at the family home until service time.
